Sigiriya Rock Fortress & Minneriya Safari
Visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress, exploring ancient royal palace ruins, frescoes and landscaped gardens. In the afternoon, enjoy a safari at Minneriya National Park, famous for elephants and reservoir scenery. Wildlife sightings depend on the season.

Travel to Mirissa, a popular coastal destination known for sandy beaches, ocean views and a relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 10
Whale Watching & Galle Fort
Start early with an optional whale-watching excursion from Mirissa, subject to seasonal conditions, sea conditions and boat availability. Later, visit Coconut Tree Hill for coastal views before exploring Galle Dutch Fort, with its historic ramparts, lighthouse area and colonial-era streets.

Departure
Transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport for departure. The transfer from the southern coast takes several hours, so check the flight schedule carefully.
Planning note: Whale watching is seasonal and weather-dependent. For early-morning flights, consider moving the final overnight closer to the airport.
